Last year as God was really developing a desire to meet with Swazi high school girls in small groups, I like Gideon, needed a little more convincing this is what He was wanting me to do.
So I asked one week, if He wanted me to meet in small groups with the girls that every school that I visited, at least one girl from each school would show me her interest in meeting with me and/or studying God’s Word.
Well, what do you know at every school that happened and it had never happened before and it never happened after that week.
Three friends at one of the schools stood out to me the most and I was most excited about meeting with them.
I had them write down their names and phone numbers so I could contact them since their school is a 2 hour drive from where I stay in Swaziland.
Upon my return from the States, the paper with their information was no where to be found – I looked everywhere at least two times and could not find it.
All I knew were two of the three of their first names and even those I wasn’t sure I was saying them correctly.
So by faith, I drove out to their school last Friday and asked God to lead me to these girls.
Upon arriving at the school I prayed again and asked God to make His presence known to me.
Literally I said “Amen” and as I stepped out of the car a woman was walking towards me.
I greeted her in SiSwati which began her questioning of where I was from and how long I had been in Swaziland and what I was doing and so on.
First it was just casual conversation and then God began to answer my prayer.
This woman was a teacher at the school and the Scripture Union (Bible Club that meets every day during lunch at every high school in Swaziland) advisor for this school and a strong Christian who attends a local church.
I showed her the
Cherish Bible Study and she told me it had been a desire of hers to do something like this with the girls at her school and she said she was so excited about this curriculum “This is exactly what these girls need” she said.
I mentioned the girls I had met in the months prior and she somehow knew exactly who they were and agreed to get them to come up to the school office and meet me at the break.
We also spent a few minutes sharing what God was teaching us through His Word and I was so encouraged by this complete stranger.
It is absolutely amazing to me, that a woman whom I have never met and have next to nothing in common with can have almost an immediate bond because of the same Spirit that lives within us and our burden for the young women of Swaziland.
God was so faithful to show his presence at that school and literally answered that prayer as soon as I stepped foot onto the campus.
I had a wonderful reunion to three girls who thought I had forgotten about them and will start meeting with them one week from Friday.
Seriously, God blows me away with his faithfulness if I just ask.
