complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.” John 17:20-23
God’s son was heading back to His Father and as he left his prayer was “1”. This was Jesus’ prayer for Christians today, it was a short prayer and He prayed that we would be unified to Him and through Him. I just am amazed first of all that Christ left His prayer for me in His Word for me to read thousands of years later and that His prayer was for unity…of all the things God could have prayed about for us of this generation, that just amazes me. Christ knew what the church would be facing in 2007 and he prayed for unity.
And looking back on church history since I’ve been alive that the enemy’s number “1” tactic has been to divide the body of Christ. The enemy knows that united we are too powerful for him through Christ and so my prayer today is for the unity in the body of Christ.
Lord, I pray that the next generation in Swaziland would be 1 with you and would be in complete unity through you. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
