“Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, ‘The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.'” Lamentations 3:21-24
I’ve never been a big fan of Halloween, but it is especially not my favorite day because 6 years ago my grandmother, whom I affectionately called Oma, died on this day. She was not just my grandmother, she was my spiritual mentor until the Lord called her home. She taught me by example and to this day there are things that I do in my relationship with the Lord because I saw her do them. When I was little, I would always go over to her house in the mornings and every morning I would lie next to her in bed with her bed sheets over her legs, her Bible on her lap, and a cup of coffee within arms reach. I would usually fall back asleep while she was reading her Bible and I would wake up to worship music blaring throughout the house and I would see her singing and dancing in worship to the Lord. To this day, the first thing I do in the morning is get out of bed, make coffee, get back in bed and read my Bible and sip coffee followed by a time of dancing and singing to my Lord.
When Oma was suffering with cancer, she clung to Lamentations 3:22-23 and today this is the Scripture I’m teaching on to my precious girls God has allowed me to pour into. These precious girls have so much in their lives they could be consumed with but my prayer is they may know the Love and compassions of their Savior and how by His love we can have hope through cancer ravaging our bodies or living through extreme poverty. Oh that I may teach by example, that when I’m gone others could follow in my footsteps that lead to a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.
Becca what great spiritual heritage that you recieved from your Grandmother and you are now passing on to your girls. You have been blessed to be a blessing and you are.

Sweetie, I know you miss her, but I know she is extremely proud of you. I praise God for the foundational heritage she has given you…I would have loved to be a fly on the wall and see her dance and sing to the Lord in her home! She was such a joy!
