Name:  Bongekile Myeni (Bong-ga-ghee-lay MM-yen-ee)

Age: 27 August 1987, 20

Form 4 or 5: Form 5 (Senior)

Bonegekile is a Form 5 Prefect

Favorite Subject:  Languages/social subjects

What do you want to be when you grow up:  Journalist, but they are not making a lot of cash so my attitude is changing.  I have seen myself growing in the quality in teaching in fact when I was teaching the Cherish Bible Study.

Who do you stay with?  Parents

Are parents alive? Yes

How many siblings: 3 sisters and 4 brothers, I am the last born

How many wives does your father have? 1

Why did you join the Cherish Bible Study?  Make Zwane (the vice principal) said she needs girls who want to know what to do and what not to do about virginity so I can reach marriage with my virginity

What did you learn from it?  It’s good to keep your virginity so the man you will get married to he can trust you wholeheartedly.  If you lose it before marriage you may have thoughts that you may be having affairs with a lot of men and maybe you are carrying a lot of diseases.

Why do you want to lead a Cherish Bible Study?  I just wanted to share what I just learned with the girls.

Are you waiting to have sex until you are married?  Yes, definitely Why? It’s one of my best wishes that I would reach marriage with my virginity and I thank God that I still have it even now.

What would you say to encourage someone to remain abstinent until marriage?  There are advantages in that you are able to stand firm in yourself and the person you get involved with.  Some other men tend to say within your marriage but “who are you to tell me because when I got you, you didn’t have your virginity”.

Did your parents remain wait until marriage to have sex?  No

When asked what else she would like to say, Bongekile said:  I wish to serve the Lord until I die and I wish that the Lord could direct me to the right full position to why did he put me on this earth.  I wish to teach the females as much as I can about real life and I thank God that maybe I will be talking about things from experience.

When I (Becca) think of Bongekile, i think LEADER.  This girl has natural leadership abilities and she keeps me in line.  When i ask the girls to do something she thinks is unrealistic (i.e. a 3 day fast) she let me know.  She has been a Christian for a long time and was so overjoyed to watching her classmates accept Christ and grow in their relationship with Him.

  1. Becca…..These testimonies from these girls are so inspiring. I praise God for what He is doing in their lives and for how He is using you.
