Last week, the Lord led me to Romans 12 about feeding and giving drink to your enemies. I tried not to laugh as that is the last thing I want to do for “my enemies” but the Lord had me buy food and drink for them. It is amazing, I’m honestly my heart is healed and completely changed toward them. I don’t know why I’m surprised that God’s Word is true if we do what it says.
The coolest thing though is, the woman working behind the counter started asking what the white girl was doing in Swaziland. She found out I was teaching Bible Studies and wanted to start studying the Bible with me. She is born again but knows nothing more about the Bible or about Jesus. We are starting today and I’m so excited. The woman’s name is Nomile (no-mee-lay), and it just amazes me that my act of obedience of buying food for my enemies led to Nomile and I having Bible Study…I’m so glad I didn’t miss out on this opportunity J
Psalm 37:4 is one of my all time favorite verses that says “delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart”. My desire is to study God’s Word with the women of Swaziland and walk through life with them toward Jesus. Delighting in God’s Word and doing what it says, he really does give us the desires of our hearts. As I was meditating on this verse I also finally realized that not only does he give us our “desires” as in fulfills them but also He is the one who gives us that desire in the first place. I didn’t even know Swaziland was a country until God intervened.
