The Lord has me in this place of asking me to do bigger things and giving me less details and at the same time just began a new book Fresh Faith by Jim Cymbala. The premise is rooted in Hebrews 11:6, that without faith it is IMPOSSIBLE to please God. While I’m stumbling through the things He’s asking me to walk through He just keep showing me His enjoyment of me having to lean fully on Him.

Last week, I had the African flu…there’s nothing like it…and spent most of the week in bed but Thursday night the Lord told me to take my girls up to Execution Rock to discuss the assurance of our salvation but right before we left, I was talking to co-worker of mine and I soon thought to blind fold the girls and have them lead one another up the rock as a team building activity. I was not blindfolded as I was leading the way but as I was watching them the Lord gave me a visual of what He was doing with me. During the flat parts the girls would just hold hands but on the steep rocky parts they were almost clinging to one another and leaning fully on the other to feel the other one’s every move.

“I will never leave you nor forsake you”. This verse popped in my head because the Lord says this so many times throughout His Word when His children are going through difficult things, He assures them of His presence. When the girls were walking on the slippery parts it didn’t matter the terrain so much because next to them was someone who could see the way, someone who loved them and someone they could trust.

When I was going up I thought, we have to be close…where’s the top…and once I got to the top we only stayed for about 20 minutes and the Lord whispered “It’s in the journey”. He’s not so interested in the destination but the journey and the relationship built from that journey.

Lord, I feel like my eyes are covered but I know you are present, don’t let go, please keep speaking – I get nervous when you’re quiet – and help me to find joy in the journey with you. I have to say you’re the most fun and exciting of anyone I know…oh the places you have led me J.
